The five award categories for 2026 are:
- Young Founder

- International Trade
- Sustainability
- Promoting Opportunity through Social Mobility
This year sees the introduction of the Young Founder category, recognising the achievements of young entrepreneurs who are making a significant contribution through innovation, leadership and enterprise.
Applications are now open and will close on 9 September 2026. Businesses of all sizes are encouraged to explore whether their achievements could be recognised through this highly regarded awards programme.
To help local businesses learn more about the awards and application process, the West Sussex Lieutenancy has produced an information presentation outlining the categories, eligibility requirements and benefits of becoming a King's Award winner.
