Join us for the launch of Let the Light in an update from Amanda O'Reilly, head of culture and Gerry Connolly, Worthing Museum and Art Gallery manager about the renovation of the Museum. Followed by a talk from Martin Randall about the economic impact of the project.
The reception is to celebrate the launch of Let The Light In and an opportunity to see the breath-taking plans to transform Worthing Museum & Art Gallery.
Amanda will be hosting the evening; speakers include Alex Bailey, Chief Executive of Adur and Worthing Councils and East Worthing and Shoreham MP Tim Loughton.
The museum & gallery plan to become a national centre for costume research as it holds one of the most significant selections in the UK with more than 30,000 items in store due to lack of display space. Working alongside the V&A Museum in London, GB MET College in Worthing and Brighton University plans are to create a costume research library attracting new visitors and both UK and international students. The scheme will create 50 new jobs during the project while protecting 20 current roles. It will also allow the museum to expand its highly respected outreach and schools programmes.
The evening will include a tour of the building and an opportunity to see some of the fabulous items on display with drinks and canapes being served during the evening.
