If you are able to spend some time talking to our students about your own career journey please sign up via this link here
Many thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer.

We also have other opportunities for employer/educational engagement if you cannot commit to this, so please do indicate if you would like to support any of these.

Get involved as an Enterprise Adviser, an Industry Champion or a Cornerstone Employer

West Sussex, Brighton and Hove Careers Hub works with schools, colleges, apprenticeship providers and employers to ensure careers education meets the highest standards to help every young person to find their best next step.

We help to raise students’ aspirations and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work. We link education and employment to help education providers to deliver high-quality careers education that meets the needs of every student.

    For employers this means:

    • They access schools and colleges in a co-ordinated and organised way
    • They meet their future workforce face-to-face
    • They shape the content of careers education
    • They target their programmes at young people who need more support.

    How to get involved

Are you looking to give back to your community and inspire the next generation? Your experience, skillset, and industry knowledge are vital resources for students.

We’re expanding our volunteer network and there are multiple ways you can get involved with Careers Hub:

    Enterprise Advisers

If you can commit to at least one year to support a school or college, you can work with a Careers Leader in a school or college to review and develop their careers programme. Enterprise Advisers are an invaluable mix of business consultant, critical friend, and mentor. This is a hugely rewarding opportunity to make a clear difference to the lives of young people in your community.

    Industry Champions

If you have spare time to volunteer on an ad hoc basis, you can support young people as an Industry Champion through activities including careers talks, mock interviews, careers fairs, workplace visits, and work experience.

    Cornerstone Employers

Join us as one of the Careers Hub’s flagship group of local businesses who improve outcomes for young people by working with us to boost world-class careers education in the region in a joined-up and supported way.

If you would like to find out more about working with the West Sussex, Brighton and Hove Careers Hub, please email us for more information.

Could you offer an internship for SEN students from Northbrook College

The supported internship programme aims to provide students with meaningful opportunities to develop the skills, knowledge and experience within a professional workplace, to prepare them for work.

The students who are on the programme have been attending the college over a period of time and have demonstrated the qualities to be successful in a work setting, with some support.

If your company could offer a short or long term placement please get in touch with Karen Phillips
