Transfer of Apprenticeship Levy funds can now support more Small and Medium sized Enterprises. From April 2019 employers who pay the Apprenticeship levy may now transfer up to 25% of their annual funds to other companies, including those outside their company group structure. This provides opportunities for any SME employer to receive and use transferred funds for the training and assessment of new starts for Apprenticeships. 

Hear from Levy payers who have already set up Levy transfer schemes to support SMEs, they will explain their arrangements and how to access funds. GB MET College will explain how they can match up Levy employers with SMEs to make use of this new scheme. 

Could your company provide an industry placement for students?  Industry Placement students from GB MET College have an existing level of industry related knowledge and skills and could support specific projects or tasks and bring new ideas and energy to your business.

Students can bring in new skills and approaches to businesses that may not previously have been explored – a fresh pair of eyes and an inquisitive mind can be of huge benefit, particularly at busy times. Supporting an Industry Placement student can be great CPD for junior members of staff who might be looking to take on supervisory responsibilities. Working with a student on placement over an extended period provides the opportunity to trial a potential new member of staff you may look to take on in the future without any current commitments.

These are both fantastic opportunities for expanding your workforce.
