Meet the Chief Exec of the co-op! Paving the way in CSR
It can sometimes be fun … and rewarding!
You are invited to an exclusive opportunity to hear from our prestigious speaker Mark Smith, Chief Exec of Southern Co-op
Mark Smith will be sharing his insights into promoting the practice of good responsible business otherwise known as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Mark was personally appointed by HRH Prince Charles to be the Business In The Community Southern Ambassador.
It can sometimes be fun … and rewarding! We can all take part in CSR no matter what the size of your business, and we are not talking about you giving money, it’s much more about using your expertise and resources.
We want to make this easy – hear about Forward Steps, a website that will allow you anonymously as a business to offer or provide services required by local community groups that you may be able to provide to make a difference.
How will this help me? If you receive requests for help from charities and community groups the idea is for you to point people to the forward stepswebsite www.forwardsteps.org.uk where they can post their request. Any businesses can view these requests and see if they can help. What could be easier and better still you never need to say no!
Mark Smith bioMark has spent much of his professional career in the retail sector including senior Finance and Commercial roles with Marks and Spencer plc working in both their UK and overseas businesses. He joined The Southern Co-operative in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer, and was promoted to become Chief Executive in October 2008 He joined the BITC South East Advisory Board in 2015.
