The September Chamber Chat workshop was all about how to use the
Twitter phenomenon for business. Presented by Andy Headworth of
Sirona Social Media and self confessed twitter addict he led us through the do’s and don’ts to get the most out of using twitter for your business.
It
is all about building your brand, forget the direct selling approach,
people tire of it, you need to get your brand image across, build your
business network, gain new knowledge, engage with and listen to your
customers. Use it to promote offers and new products, promote your
latest news and ask for feedback. Give to receive. How about your
competitors, are they twitterers?, follow them, see what they are doing.
There
are many tools that you can use to find your peers, competitors and
potential customers such as twollow.com or twittersearch.com.
Why
will people follow you? Be interesting, make sure you have a photo and
complete bio people like to know a bit about you and who they may be
dealing with, don’t sell, share your information and experiences, try
to develop a tweeting strategy people will then want to follow you and
if your posts are interested will re-tweet them to their followers, and
therefore your following can, and will, grow.
